Here’s some frequently asked questions!
Who can join?
Anyone aged 13 through 18! Everyone from all over the world can participate.
Is this free/legit?
Yeah! Hack Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, with donations from donors like Michael Dell and Tom Preston-Werner covering all of the prizes! We also ran programs like High Seas, Summer of Making, Flavortown in the past.
What counts as a project?
Anything technical that you can put in a repo! Websites, CLI tools, libraries, circuit boards... and you can make an infinite number of them! However, we cannot accept school-work or stuff you've been paid for.
Does hardware count?
Yeah! You might have to select the wildcard, but we treat hardware projects with the same respect as we do software.
What if I don't like the cards?
No worries! You can always pick the Wildcard, which allows you to ship anything you'd like. The other cards have special multipliers, though, which will help you get your prizes faster!
