AI and tutorials

You can use AI assistants and follow tutorials. What Crescent pays for is the time you spent building something that is yours, so both need saying.

AI

Say which parts an assistant wrote and roughly how much of the project that is. A project that is mostly generated with little of your own work will be paid for the hours you demonstrably spent, which may be fewer than Hackatime tracked. A project you built with an assistant helping you along is a normal project. This includes the README: write it yourself, in your own words, even if an assistant helped with the code.

Tutorials

Following a tutorial is a fine way to learn and a poor way to earn: the hours are real but the project is the tutorial author’s. Say which tutorials you used. Projects that go clearly beyond the tutorial are paid for the part that is yours.

What gets a project closed

Claiming time you did not spend, or work that is not yours, closes the project for good and may close the account. Everything else is a conversation.
